Western Australia and died on January 22, 2008 in New York, USA. Ledger is of
Irish and Scottish descent. He lived in Western Australia until he was 16,
after which he dropped out of school and moved to Sydney.
Heath Ledger was found dead in his New York
apartment on January 22, 2008 at 3:26 p.m. local time. Prescription sleeping
pills and packages of other over-the-counter drugs were found near his body.
The actor was only 28 years old.
The official cause of death was “acute poisoning
caused by the combined effect of six different drugs.”
The last completed film with his participation is
"The Dark Knight" ("The Dark Knight") by director
Christopher Nolan, the sequel to "Batman Begins". Ledger played the
role of the Joker. In an interview with "The New York Times" Heath
Ledger said that the role of the Joker exhausted him and he could not sleep
more than two hours a day because he could not stop thinking about the filming.
In the history of the American Film Academy, there
are only two actors who did not live to receive the well-deserved
"Oscar".
Ironically, both are Australians - Peter Finch and
Heath Ledger.

Today we remember the actor who played the most
impressive Joker of all time.

anyone make you feel like
you don’t deserve what you want”
